I love how symbolic this official art is. For the VII compilation they released a series of all the crucial characters in the series, and each of them just utterly embody the character. I mean, look at these-as a teenager Zack is starry-eyed, full of heroic dreams (ergo, he’s looking up, hopefuly) but as a young man he’s a bit more jaded, less naive; he’s seen combat and he just seems like he carries himself differently. Things are sadder and heavier. It’s just amazing. I also really like Vincent’s because he’s turning away almost in shame, hiding his face, which is very indicative of what he thinks of himself.
